John
Laird is currently considering a legislative proposal to end aerial spray without
consent. He has been reviewing this proposal since November 27th, and a deadline
on January 25th to submit his proposal to legislative counsel.
I have
heard through the Sacramento grapevine, that John is having some trouble seeing
his way clear on this issue. Apparently he is considering a run for Maldonado's
senate seat if term limit initiative goes through on Feb 5th. Therefore he is
concerned not to upset any Agricultural interests.
We need him to worry
about not upsetting us, the people! Our immediate action is needed by January
25th, 2008.
Call or fax John Laird's office now, and tell him: 1)
That you have signed the petition and are aware that he may be authoring legislation
to end aerial spraying without representation and you would like him to continue
to work towards seeing an end to forced aerial spraying.
2) Thank him
for spearheading efforts to represent tens-of-thousands of Californians who are
grateful for his leadership in recognizing the importance of protecting human
and environmental health and addressing the long-term need of California agriculture;
3)
That he is the type of representative that we want for California long-term and
will support his initiatives in anyway we can.
